China, Norway Work On Better Seafood Trade Relations, More Direct Flights

China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson was asked about the recent salmon smuggling case during the ministry’s regular news conference on April 12. According to the journalist, a Norwegian was seized for smuggling salmon from Vietnam into China on March 27. The odd part is that the suspect has passports of both China and Norway; so should she have been arrested as a Norwegian or a Chinese citizen? Is the smuggling her personal decision or her company’s? And is this case going to affect trade or even bilateral trade relations between the two countries?
The spokesman said he didn’t know the details or answers to those questions yet. But one sure thing is the cooperation has been going well between China and Norway.
Although the jury is still out on the smuggling case, China and Norway are on the way to further cooperation....
