Japan's marine Eco-label, MEL Japan, will be introduced globally at the upcoming Seafood Expo in Brussels.
The ecolabel was established in December, 2007, and was Japan's original eco-label scheme. Its aim is to promote sustainable fisheries that work to conserve marine resources and the oceans surrounding Japan. It is in compliance with the "Guidelines for the Eco-labeling of Fish and Fishery Products from Marine Capture Fisheries" established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations ...
