Domoic Acid Levels Drop; California Lobster Fishery Open Coastwide

Lower domoic acid levels in lobsters prompted California Department of Fish and Wildlife Director Charlton H. Bonham to lift the spiny lobster closure in some areas Thursday.
After consultation with the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, Bonham lifted the closure in state waters around the northeast side of Santa Cruz Island and the south side of Anacapa Island as recommended by state health agencies.
