National Weather Service Seeks Industry Input on Marine Weather Statements

The National Weather Service is considering revamping its hazard and warning statements, including reformatting marine watches, warnings, advisories, and statements -- but time is short to log the industry's input.

As part of the ongoing Hazard Simplification Project (Haz Simp), the National Weather Service is proposing consolidate and reformat its Marine hazard messages. In support of this project, NWS solicited public comment on a series of consolidation and reformatting proposals pertaining to the agency's Marine products earlier this year.
