Sakhalin Proposing Mandatory Electronic Trading of All Crab to Curb Tax Evasion

The authorities of Sakhalin region, one of the centers of the Russian fishing industry, has put forward a proposal to create an electronic platform for wholesale trade of fish and seafood, which is produced within the boundaries of the region.
Igor Bystrov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Sakhalin Region, said a significant part of fish and seafood, produced in Sakhalin is exported to foreign markets at very low prices. The establishment of the electronic platform and beginning of sales within the region should help to improve the current situation.
Bystrov added the most complex situation is observed in the case sea urchin, spiny king crab, as well as some other crab species, almost 90% of which are sold to Japan...
