Bering Sea Bairdi Crab Harvest Strategy to be Considered at May BOF Meeting

Alaska's Board of Fish announced this week that a board generated proposal to review and amend the Bering Sea District C. bairdi Tanner crab harvest strategy will be on the docket for their May 17-18 meeting in Anchorage.
The newly assigned Proposal 281, if passed, would "potentially allow the Bering Sea District commercial Tanner crab fishery west of 166 degrees W. longitude to be opened at low levels of Tanner crab abundance."
