California, Oregon Salmon Season Options Range from Some to None

Commercial salmon fishermen in Oregon and California are once again looking at no significant summer season this year -- a repeat of similar conditions in the late 2000s.
The Klamath River returns of spawning fall Chinook are projected to be the lowest on record due to poor ocean conditions, drought, disease and other issues. The Sacramento River Endangered Species Act-listed winter Chinook also continue to fare poorly.
