Duty Rates Revisions, Catfish Inspection Refusals Set Up US Pangasius Prices to Climb this Summer

Pangasius prices in the US could go higher this summer as two of the market’s three major suppliers were hit with an unexpected duty rate revision and import refusal notification in May.
Last week the US Department of Commerce finalized revisions to duty rates for Vietnamese pangasius exporters from the seventh period of review. The shipments reviewed were completed between August 1, 2009 and July 31, 2010.
