US Pangasius Imports Hit Q1 Record Ahead of USDA Catfish Inspection Program

The USDA’s catfish inspection program likely led to a sharp decline in US pangasius for the month of March, but it is largely the reason why imports for the quarter reached record levels.
Pangasius imports in March declined 30 percent to 19.4 million pounds. This figure was slightly under the monthly average from 2015.
