Royal Greenland, Polar Seafood Back 12.5% Hike to West Greenland's 2016 Coldwater Shrimp Quota

Major coldwater shrimp fishing companies Royal Greenland and Polar Seafood are backing an increase to the 2016 pandalus borealis catch quota after surveys found the West Greenland stock to be in recovery.
The two companies endorse a decision to raise the coldwater shrimp catch by 9,000 tons. This would be a 12.5 percent increase to this season's 73,000 ton TAC.
This would be the first increase to the West Greenland harvest after years of decline. Fishery officials slashed this season's catch 14 percent from 2014. Coldwater catch declines haven't been isolated to West Greenland as the global harvest was forecast to fall 12 percent between 2014 and 2015...
