Shrimp Shipments to US Up Over 3.5% YTD in 2015 Despite 10% Drop in August Imports

August 2015 shrimp imports (all types) are down 10.7% when compared to August 2014; however, the eight month total is 3.6% ahead of the Jan-Aug 2014 total.
India continues to ship significant quantities of shrimp to the U.S.; shipping 34.1% more shrimp this August than last year and 35% more year-to-date. Mexico also shipped additional shrimp in August, 157% more than a year ago. However, all other major supplying countries were down for the month; Indonesia (-13.7%), Ecuador (-20.4%), Vietnam (-40%), Thailand (-4.2%) and China (-26.6%)...
