Mexican Shrimp Farmers Want to Ban Some 15 Million Lbs. of Honduran Shrimp Shipments Over EMS Fears

Honduran news outlet La Prensa is reporting that Mexican shrimp farmers in Sinaloa, Sonora, Nayarit and Michoacan have stepped up their call for the Mexican government to block Honduran shrimp imports from entering the market over concerns of EMS.
Farmers specifically identified shrimp shipments from Choluteca and Valle over alleged claims that the disease has hit shrimp farms in that region according to Jacobo Peace, Honduras' Minister of Agriculture and Livestock (SAG).
More than 15 million pounds of shrimp are at risk of not entering the Mexican market if they pass the blockade according to reports...
