Alaska Salmon Catch Nears 120 Million, Fueled by Massive PWS Pink Return

The latest numbers from ADF&G show Prince William Sound pink harvests have exceeded the 45 million salmon mark and are still rising. In a series of record-breaking days, last Monday’s single-day haul of 2.9 million pink salmon broke records for that day, along with the cumulative totals for that day in the season.
Single-day harvests last week also broke records for that day in the season, due mostly to the slight lag in the timing of this year's pink return. Still, the all-you-can-catch aspect of the fishery this year indicates a healthy return to Prince William Sound streams and hatcheries...
