Gulf Shrimp Landings Now Under 2014 Totals as La.'s Shorter Spring Season Cuts June Catch Sharply

Louisiana’s shortened spring shrimp fishing season saw its landings plummet in June, which now has overall Gulf landings short of last season’s total and well under the five-year-average.
Gulf shrimp landings in June reached 9.7 million pounds for the month, a 39 percent decline from the same month a year ago.
For the year, Gulf landings are down just over 1 million pounds at 29.8 million pounds...
