Chinese Tilapia Seedling Sales on the Decline With Tilapia Demand Down

A decline in tilapia demand both overseas and among China's local markets has inventories well supplied and prices low. This has resulted in a sharp fall in tilapia seedlings so far in 2015.
One Chinese seedline prouducer based in Gaoming, Guangdong only sold around two-million seedlings from the beginning of this year, while the sales volume has reached as high as over five-million during the same period a year earlier.
Gaoming, Guangdong relies on foreign markets for its tilapia sales. And this year there is an excessive supply of tilapias, which cuts the tilapia prices. The demand is also weak for seedlings owing to the low tilapia prices...
