US Restaurant Performance Remains Historically Strong with Comps Up Again in May

Restaurant sales and operator expectations softened in May, but both indicators remain historically strong, according to the latest Restaurant Performance Index from the National Restaurant Association.
The Restaurant Performance Index, a monthly composite based on surveys of restaurant owners, fell 0.4 percent, to 102.3, in May, from 102.7 in April.
May marked the 27th consecutive month in which the RPI stood above 100, which the NRA considers a level indicating industry expansion...
