GAA Teams Up with Preferred and UMass Dartmouth to Develop Global Aquaculture Facility Database

The Global Aquaculture Alliance and Preferred Freezer Services have teamed up with the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to build a global database of aquaculture facilities, including processing plants, farms, hatcheries and feed mills.
The database project will be a summer internship project led by Dr. David Koop, a UMass Dartmouth computer and data science professor. Dr. Koop will lead a four-person team to collect, organize and analyze the data and populate the database, for the proprietary use of GAA and Preferred Freezer Services.
