Alaska Governor Appoints Board of Fish Member

The regular session of Alaska’s 29th Legislature ended in April with an empty seat on the state’s Board of Fish. Governor Walker filled the void last week by appointing Robert Mumford, retired Fish and Wildlife trooper.
Mumford’s appointment is the first one outside of the legislative session and was not subject to the contentious battles the first two Walker appointees underwent.
The vacancy occurred when BOF member Karl Johnstone resigned last year. Walker’s first nomination was Robert Ruffner, who was rejected by one vote. The governor’s second nomination, Roland Maw, withdrew his name.
