Pescanova Trims Loss in Q1

Spanish fishing company Pescanova reportedly reduced its loss by 65% on the year to EUR 5.87 million during the first quarter of fiscal 2014/15, ending in November, the company announced in a regulatory filing.
Nevertheless, Pescanova pointed out the comparison is somewhat biased as this is the first new fiscal year for the company and includes results from December, a month which is traditionally very strong in terms of sales.
Pescanova reported first-quarter sales rose by 23.4% in the period to EUR 254.26 million. Its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) surged 50% to EUR 9.54 million
