Norway Licenses Two RAS Land Based Salmon Farms

Norway's Fisheries Directorate has given authorization to Fredrikstad Seafoods to farm salmon onshore in southeastern Norway.
The permission covers two research licenses, valid for 5 years and permitted for a standing biomass of up to 600 metric tons each.
Norway's government has announced an aquaculture scoring system based on sustainability indicators. At first, these indicators will consist of sealice levels, but could be expanded to include other indicators such as waste.
