U.S. Lowers Anti-Dumping Duties on Vietnamese Shrimp

HCMC, The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) announced preliminary anti-dumping duty results of the ninth period of review (POR9) on frozen shrimp from Vietnam, with the average tariff down to around 1%, over five percentage points lower than POR8.
Of 56 seafood companies subject to DOC’s anti-dumping duty administrative review from February 1, 2013 to January 31, 2014, Minh Phu Group gets the highest weighted-average dumping margin with 1.5%, followed by Thuan Phuoc Seafood and Trading Corporation 1.06%. The anti-dumping tax rate on Sao Ta Foods Joint Stock Company (Fimex VN) is 0% while other enterprises are imposed a rate of 0.93%.
These are preliminary results and the final results will be announced this September at the latest.
