Gulf Shrimpers Finish 2014 Season Strong With Landings Up 26% in December

For the fourth consecutive year total shrimp landings out of the Gulf of Mexico were up over 100 million pounds as a late surge in the 2014 fishing effort nearly made up for lost time from a delayed start to the season in May.
Gulf shrimp landings in December hit 8.7 million pounds, a 26 percent increase over last year and the highest total recorded since 2010. Landings were up in all Gulf states for the month...
