Umami sells Croatian Kali Tuna bluefin farm to Japanese company

San Diego, California-based bluefin tuna farmer Umami Sustainable Seafood has agreed to sell its Croatian unit Kali Tuna to a Japanese firm for $10.2 million.
The sale values Kali Tuna and its subsidiary MB Lubin at $35.4m, when including debt, said Umami in a filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission on Nov. 24. MB Lubin supplies Kali's farms with wild tuna and feeder fish.
The deal - described as a "definitive agreement" but subject to "certain closing adjustments" - was inked between Umami's Mexican subsidiary Baja Aqua Farms and J-Trading Inc, which provides services to fishery-related companies worldwide.
