Emergency ISA harvest underway at one of Chilean salmon producer Cupquelan's farming sites

Chile's national fishing authority Sernapesca has confirmed an outbreak of ISA at a farming operation beloing to Cupquelan, a subsidiary of Cooke Aquaculture.
Under Chile's stricter disease protocols, Cupquelan started harvesting the fish from the infected ponds in central Ballena 4 over the weekend under strict biosecruity measures. So far, no reports of visible signs of the disease, nor mortalities have been associated with this outbreak.
Cupqulan operates its salmon farms in southern Chile in the Cupquelan Fjord.
In addition to the immediate harvest, officials with Sernapesca have begun testing the health status of surrounding farms in the region.
