Woolworths commits to sourcing all of its farmed seafood from ASC or equivalent standard by 2020

Major South African retailer Woolworths has set a goal to source all of its farmed fish products from operations certified by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) or an equivalent standard by 2020.
Woolworth's commitment to the ASC is another progression in the company's mission to provide its customers with responsibly sources seafood. In 2008 the retailer introduced its first sustainable seafood policy and also founded the Fishing for the Future program.
Woolworths is also the first retailer to sign the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and The Southern African Sustainable Seafood Initiative (SASSI) Retail Charter, a supplier participation scheme that recognize organizations that have made public and timebound commitments to sustainable seafood...
