American Seafoods has announced it will pay a civil penalty of $1.75 million in a settlement of NOAA violations of flow scale reporting. NOAA charged that the flow scales were inaccurate at specific times during specific seasons on three of American Seafoods’ vessels.
The negotiated resolution eliminates the need for a hearing that was scheduled to occur later this month. American Seafoods had requested the hearing last fall and fully cooperated with NOAA throughout its investigation and the formal discovery process...
