Canadian retailers now selling locally landed canned sockeye labeled with fishermen's name and face

It seems everyone wants to know where their food comes from these days, and they'd like it to be sustainable and produced without injury to the environment. These concerns carry over to canned seafood. Nanaimo-based Raincoast Trading has been producing sustainably caught, local canned tuna and salmon for about 14 years. (The firm used to send most of its catch overseas before seeing a need for locally caught canned seafood on grocery shelves.)
ThisFish, a project under Ecotrust Canada, is taking it a step further. By month's end, they will be launching tinned salmon that will be named for the fisher who caught it...
