Stefanie Moreland confirmed for Pacific Salmon Comm, Gov. Parnell says her advisory role continues

Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell announced that Stefanie Moreland, formerly his fisheries advisor, has been confirmed by the US State Dept. for an appointment to the Pacific Salmon Commission.
"In her new role, Stefanie joins the exceptional and dedicated group of fisheries biologists and industry representatives who protect Alaska's interests in the Pacific Salmon Commission process," said Governor Parnell. "In addition to her Pacific Salmon Commission duties, Stefanie will retain her role as lead for the administration on Arctic and ocean policy, and continue to be part of the team providing me with policy advice on fish and game issues."
The governor has appointed Ben Mohr to serve as a special assistant with a portfolio that includes fish and game, as well as access issues for hunters, fishermen and non-consumptive users. Mohr's focus will be on outreach to constituents and coordinating across departments on issues such as land access. He will add capacity to the team that includes ADF&G Commissioner Cora Campbell, Deputy Commissioner Moreland, and other senior department and Governor's Office staff to advise on fisheries, wildlife, and land access matters.
When Mohr's appointment was announced as the Governor's Fisheries Advisor, there was some criticism that his background was with Pebble Mine and extractive resource issues in Alaska, not renewable fisheries. But with the language in todays announcement, it appears Parnel is striving for better balance....
