Warming waters off Newfoundland's south coast may bring back the haddock fishery

Waters off Newfoundland are at their warmest in decades according to the latest research, and it could mean a new fishery off the south coast.
There was a significant haddock fishery back in the 1960's and early '70's, and scientist Dr. George Rose says there are signs that haddock are showing up in larger numbers off the south coast.
The President of the Fishermen's Union, Earle McCurdy, says significant change in the world's oceans are resulting in more favourable conditions for groundfish, while shellfish are suffering.
