NGOs Challenge MSC’s Claim of Sustainability, Point to Flaws in Certification Standard

For the second year in a row, a coalition of conservation groups is urging the Marine Stewardship Council to eliminate the flaws in its standard and improve the process of certification. In January of last year, 53 international organizations signed a letter objecting to MSC’s behavior. In January of this year, the list had grown to 66 groups, including Environmental Justice Foundation and Greenpeace.
