White Shrimp Prices Rise in China; Seasonal Shrimp Shortage May Lead to Further Increases

On December 13, China’s shrimp price index is reported to be 124.82 points, which is an increase of 4.28 percent (5.12 points) from the last statistic date (Dec 6). The average farm gate price is 25.82 yuan/jin ($7.80/kg USD) for those weighing about 40 shrimps/jin (80 shrimp/kg), which increases 1.06 yuan/jin ($0.32/kg USD).
