China Reduces Tariffs of 8 Imported Seafood Types

According to China’s General Administration of Customs, reduction in tariffs of some imported commodities including eight seafood species was implemented Dec. 1. The decrease of seafood tariffs is expected to boost China’s imports and also encourage an increase in seafood consumption. Lower tariffs also cut the cost to China’s seafood importers, help crack down on seafood smuggling and eventually contribute to the building of a well-functioning market.
