Gulf Coast Shrimp Landings for August Released; Texas Numbers Maintain Average

August Gulf Coast shrimp landings for all species, headless, are at 16.75 million pounds, compared to 14.23 million pounds last August. From January the year to date total is 65.93 million pounds, which is up almost 9.8 million from the January to August total in 2016. NOAA reports that the total landings were 6.4% below the prior 15 year historical average of 17.9 million pounds.
