Fort Bragg’s Homegrown Seafood Company Brings Fresh Catches to Ukiah Farmers Market

“One of my favorite parts of fishing is direct marketing our catch right to people, and seeing them take the fish away and enjoying it,” said Heather Sears, the owner of Princess Seafood based out of Fort Bragg, Calif., which offers fresh caught and frozen-at-sea seafood at the Ukiah Farmers Market every other Saturday.
King salmon, coho salmon, sablefish, and tuna smoked or salted and packed in airtight packages (the Princess answer to a can of tuna, prepared at a microcannery) are among the catches that Princess farmers market manager Maia Grodin brings to the Ukiah Farmers Market.
In addition to salmon steaks and filets, Princess sells the spines of the salmon, which still contain a lot of meat but cost much less than filets, and the bellies, which are Sears’ favorite part of the fish.
