The market for U.S. origin sea scallops has fallen considerably since the start of the new year; the result of some demand destruction and expectations for increased landings. Scallops have been trading at-or-close to record levels for four years, climbing almost continuously since the start of 2013. This long-term price action has resulted in a diminished call for scallops.
