Antibiotic Usage Among Chilean Fish Farms Down 30% in 2016

Chile’s aquaculture industry cut the number of antibiotics used on fish farms by 30 percent in 2016.
According to a report from federal fishery officials in Chile, aquaculture farms used 382.5 ton of antibiotics in 2016. This figure was down 30 percent from the 557.2 tons of drugs that were used in 2015.
