With the Norwegian king crab fishery nearing its end, it looks like it will be a record year for both harvest and value. The reason is that the Norwegians have adjusted the season to focus on supplying the live market.
Before this year, the season opened in August, and Norwegian crab had to compete against both Alaskan and Russian king crab in the fall fishery.
