Lobster Ban Threat in Europe is Real, as Swedish and US Scientists Talk Past Each Other

Most US industry and government reaction to the proposed ban of sales of live lobster in Europe has been highly critical of the lack of science and data in the Swedish request to impose a ban under invasive species control laws. The US and Canadian scientists have argued that the establishment of a population of Homarus Americanus is extremely unlikely.
However, the response of the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management, which is now public, shows that the Swedes believe the precautionary principle trumps the lack of scientific consensus.
