Plans Unveiled for New Orca Bay Seafood Warehouse to be Built by Preferred in Federal Way, WA

Officials in Federal Way, the town between Seattle and Tacoma south of SeaTac, announced a proposed new seafood freezer warehouse on 19 acres of former Weyerhaeuser land.
The freezer would be built by Preferred, and operated for Orca Bay. The warehouse is planned to be 314,424 square feet, and will house office and seafood processing space as well as storage.
Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell said the proposed development falls under current zoning uses, and any new construction on the property will follow the normal permitting process.
"This is a positive development for our community, and we remain committed to working to bring jobs and new investments to Federal Way," Ferrell said, adding that as many as 275 jobs will be created by the warehouse...
