Acadian Fishermen's Co-op Sells Lobster Processing Facility; Landings, Sales Channels Won't Change

The Acadian Fishermen's Co-op, founded in 1955, voted to sell their phyiscal plant assets to a new company, Acadian Supreme. The amount paid to co-op members from the sale was not disclosed.
Except for the change in physical ownership, the operation will continue with the same management and sales organization, said Jeff Malloy who remains as CEO and Manager of the new company.
The sale was completed at the end of Janaury.
'Acadian Supreme' is the brand name through which the company's lobster products were marketed by White Cap International. White Cap, run by former Fishery Products executives, is the largest or nearly the largest seller of crab, shrimp and lobster in the Canadian maritimes. They represent a number of lobster, crab and shrimp plants in Quebec, PEI, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland.
