Fishmeal Prices Showing Early Signs of Decline in 2016 with Peruvian Production Up

Global fishmeal prices could be primed to drop this year given lower prices in January and the rebound of Peru's commercial anchovy fishery in 2015 and 2016.
According to the World Bank, global fishmeal prices sank to $1,476 per metric ton. The price is down 17 percent from January 2015 and has been in decline since September. A look at the chart below shows how fishmeal prices are down from record high levels set in 2015.
