Rosrybolovstvo Moves to End 'Research Quotas' by Selling Rights to Russia's Existing Fish Tycoons

Rosrybolovstvo will create conditions for further consolidation and monopolization of the Russian fishing market by selling off the quota shares currently allocated to various marine research institutions.
The Russian Federal Agency of Fisheries (Rosrybolovstvo), plans to allocate additional sources to the federal budget, which is expected to take place through the sales of fishing quotas, which are currently owned by the domestic research institutions, to private investors.
Among the quotas, that will become a subject of sale will be quotas for the production of red king crab, blue crab..
