Pacific Seafood Helps Raise CA$100,000 on Christmas Eve for Families of Crew from Sunken Caledonian

Vancouver Island, Canada— Pacific Seafood Group, the parent company of Vancouver Island-based S&S Seafood and Ucluelet Harbor Seafood, announced yesterday that a fundraiser for the families of the crew lost on the F/V Caledonian has raised over $100,000 Canadian dollars.
The 33-metre trawler sank on September 5, 2015 resulting in the deaths of skipper Wesley Hagglund, engineer Keith Standing, and deckhand Doug White. Standing and White were both from Port Alberni. Hagglund was from Duncan. A fourth crew member survived.
“This tragedy has deeply affected the entire community and our company, and everyone is still grieving the loss,” said Steve Spencer, president of S&S Seafood.
